A guide to support newcomers in learning about the history of the Upper Fraser Valley and the different Indigenous groups that have called this land home since time immemorial and still do.

This guide helps newcomers in Chilliwack learn about the first people of the traditional territories of the Ts’elxwéyeqw and Pil’alt Tribes. It aims to build understanding between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. It highlights the peoples’ rich history, diverse
cultures, and contemporary realities. It will provide information about Indigenous peoples in Canada and British Columbia.
